Arthropods and Vector Born Diseases

View from my room...its nothing great but the sky looked real cool
Part of the Riverwalk in downtown San Antonio

Trying to learn how to do cool focusing stuff with my camera....the restauranut we ate at that served 60 oz margaritas..ole!

Well today, I listened to a very animated man speak for about 1.5 hours on bugs and what they can do to your body...Do Not worry, visuals were included. I ahve come to the conclusion that it is going to be a very fun but a very long 10 weeks. We start our days at 4:30 and do PT, then have an hour to eat then we go sit in briefings until 1800 (6 pm) with an hour break for lunch. We are not allowed computers or cell phones. Also, we are told to chug water but are not allowed to get up to go to the bathroom except for when we are given a 10 minute break...rough haha

This weekend was AMAZING...I made some awsome friends within my squad and we went to Cowboys, a honky tonk and saw Tracy Lawrence play live...Eli Young Band and Easton Corbin are coming in 2 weeks as well and I am so excited. I was taught or at least attempted to learn how to dance for real and ended up elbowing my friend/instructor in the mouth and gave him a bloody lip...I have come to realize that I will not live down. Also, apparently this weekend we were only a few degrees away from meeting the all time high record in San Antonio..it was 110 and today it was 106. Very Hot!
This past week has been very big for my friends as well. Olivia started Law School, Rana got into Grad school, Kelsey started her new job as what I believe to be the most fabulous hostess ever and Mad is busy in Charleston unpacking and loving the married life.

In Va, my dad informed me it has been a rough week with little bro starting his Internship at the capitol and there being a earthquake on his first day, and the hurricane...but everyone is okay and I am very thankful for that. Big bro on the other hand is not having as much fun at his BOLC as I am at mine. He only gets Sunday off, we get All weekend. Good news is we have a 4 day this weekend...perk of the military I think so.

Not much else to report here other than things are great, I am deeply blessed, and I miss all my friends and family that I am not with right now.

Stay Fabulous!
Army Strong!
