Sloppy Joes...new and improved

Here's a Monday funny I lost a windshield wiper driving down I-95 today...while it was raining. Praise the Lord it was the passenger side. I'm praying this is no hint of how the rest of my week will be.

Okay so we all know of man which right delicious when you were a kid but now maybe not to much. Well I found a recipe for Grown up sloppy joes! And they are super easy and super delicious...here's the recipe

You will need:
1lb ground turkey( or chicken)
3 large carrots washed and peeled
1 yellow onion chopped
1 small can of organic Tomato paste
3/4 cup water
Oregano
Cumin
Pepper
Paprika
Chili powder
Cilantro
2 tbs honey
And of course buns...I went with Rudis while wheat organic they are good.

Okay so first,
shred the carrots I use a potato peeler and Chop the onion
-toss them in a skillet with a little bit of grape seed or olive oil.
-sautée them until the onions are transparent(kinda see through)
-add the turkey and brown it
-add the spices
-mix it all up
- in the mean time take the tomato paste and mix it with the water and cilantro(I forgot the cilantro an it was still good)
-once its all mixed add it to the meat and veggies
-add the honey
-serve on the buns (toast if ya want or refrigerate for later)

See, so so easy...side dishes
Corn on the cob
Or a salad
Fruit

***with the spices I just added what my personal preference is for amounts but if you want a gauge 1-2 tsp per***
Enjoy!!!!

It's exhausting being fabulous

Rachel came to visit! Best surprise of the summer!!!

Okay so I've been really really really lacking on the whole blog thing. No excuses this time, simple fail. I am going to make a more conscious effort to post more now and stop being lazy. In the past few months I haven't been up to much other than work and traveling to see friends and family.

Me & the man friend

Bridesmaids!!!

This past weekend was Danielle's wedding shower so I got to see all the best friends minus mad and Rana...(we missed you). The shower was so fun we played games, ate way too much food, and drank mimosas, sangria, and Bellinis...yum. Oh and present of course. Labor day we are having a getaway Bachelorette in SC hosted by the awesome MOH, Kelsey. She and her mom definitely paid their dues this weekend along with olive, britt, and em.

Austin, TX

These activities are so nice because it brings everyone together and we always always have fun. Tomorrow everyone is back to work and school. Good luck! I get to drive back to NC tomorrow were getting ready for the field(terrible camping) for a week.

Got to celebrate the Jourth of July

Wine N Paint with Kinsey!

Ft.Bragg Paratroopers

In the mean time I'm gonna post some recipes this week of some good food...I've been makin more of an effort to eat and COOK lately. I bold cook because it's not as easy as it seems when you work 12-14 hour days and have no one to cook for...
I'm also getting back on the exercise horse. I had to take a month off due to a foot injury and am back as of the 24th of August! (this only added to my laziness)
Wine n paint with Kinsey!
Anywho, I hope everyone had a great Sunday funday! Keep your fingers crossed that mad can come to the wedding in October! I miss you!

And as always...Stay Fabulous!

A while

Up in real life....so cool.

So needless to say it has been a while. In the last few weeks I have been working crazy hours and doing alot of traveling. Finally I have a 4day weekend to celebrate Easter and I could not be more excited for a relaxing evening in town. I plan to do some hiking and catch up with friends who i haven't seen in a very long time.

St Pattys day weekend i think I already blogged about but it was so much fun and here are some more pics! One that is missing my friend in a kilt. Savanna is so so pretty!

Two weekends ago I went down to Florida to see Mad and the Collins family and celebrate Pere's 80th birthday. If i have as many friends as he does when I am his age I will be so happy. IT was so nice to see everyone and of course go shopping and to the beach....Unfortunately, I didnt get to make it over to Pensacola but I am planning a trip back soon to see all the UWF friends.of course we found time for margaritas yumm.

Last weekend I got to go home and see the family. Mom had surgery and is recovering well. Of course I did some shopping there too and I got to see Em and Dani we got to help her with a few wedding activities. Twas quite a good time. Zach and I took the dogs to the dog park and saw hunger games. It was just as good the second time.we also are trying to train the dogs on the treadmill since mom cant run for a while and dad just had foot surgery. Well I am off to watch dirty dancing and maybe take a nap and enjoy some waster candy!

Stay Fabulous

Happy belated saint pattys day everyone! I got to spend my weekend in Savannah, Georgia with 700,000 other people. It was absolutely insane but fun! Went down for the weekend with a friend and we met up with his college friends and celebrated all things green! Savannah is beautiful, even when it's covered in last nights garbage.

I am definitley going back. We ate lunch this afternoon down on the water and saw all the ships moving through.

Also witnessed my crazy friends buying kilts.
Can't say I agree with that wardrobe choice.

Definitley am going back soon. Maybe one day I'll get stationed there haha. Got to see my brother for a few minutes which was nice as well.

In other news, I finally bit the bullet and got an area rug and throw pillows for my living room.

Nothing out of
Control but I like it. Last weekend I also felt like I needed a project and decided to start a small garden on my porch. I'm trying to grow snap peas, zucchini, basil, oregano, lavender, and poppies. We will see if they can survive my black thumb.

This was my motivation to go savannah this weekend and I am so glad I did! Next weekend is Florida for some quality friend and family time!!
Stay fabulous!

Okay so I realize I have been terribly awful at blogging lately.
It's a mix of laziness and business and exhaustion. But I am going to post some delicious recipes until then I have scored what I consider to be a sweet purchase. I stink at accesorizing found these puppies in sale on rue la la and well score.

I saw Miranda lambert in concert with jerrod nieman and Chris young...amazing. Also was introduced to burbon and coke and it was delicious. Miranda lambert sang lady gaga and her intro song was girls by beyonce. Listen to it when you run.

Also with all this Cold weather I want the beach and the summer.

I signed up for the marine corps marathon next october and keep telling myself once it warms up ill start running even more. Sooo heres hoping. Until tomorrow...
