4 Days til Christmas
I am still unable to find my camera charger and believe after going through my parents house to make sure I will be buying a new one...So much for being frugal. Anywho, below are the two cookie bar recipes if you make em I hope you enjoy them as much as I believe I am going to.
I also went to downtown Fayetteville this week for a friends birthday, which I must admit is quite idyllic. It has a lot of cute shops, food stores, antique stores and restaurants. kinda like Charleston but not on such a big level.
Also, tomorrow the big brother and I take the journey home...I am so excited to see my family, friends, and of course my little boogers aka puppies.
It is getting harder and harder to be away from them. I'm conjuring up some big plans in the next few months haha.

S'MORES COOKIE BARS
Found recipe on: Lovin' From the Oven
- 1/2 cup butter, room temperature
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 1/3 cups all purpose flour
- 3/4 cup graham cracker crumbs
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 2-4 king-sized milk chocolate bars (e.g. Hershey’s. You might need more depending on the size of the king-sized bar. Mine were smaller ones so I had to use 4. Basically you need enough to cover and 8x8 pan)
- 1 1/2 cups marshmallow creme/fluff (not melted marshmallows)
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease an 8-inch square baking pan.
- In a large bowl, cream together butter and sugar until light. Beat in egg and vanilla. In a small bowl, whisk together flour, graham cracker crumbs, baking powder and salt. Add to butter mixture and mix at a low speed until combined.
- Divide dough in half and press half of dough into an even layer on the bottom of the prepared pan. Place chocolate bars over dough. 2 king-sized Hershey’s bars should fit perfectly side by side, but break the chocolate (if necessary) to get it to fit in a single layer no more than 1/4 inch thick.(*** I used choclate chips)*** Spread chocolate with marshmallow creme or fluff. Place remaining dough in a single layer on top of the fluff (most easily achieved by flattening the dough into small shingles and laying them together).
- Bake for 30 to 35 minutes, until lightly browned. Cool completely before cutting into bars
It is silly how simple these are to make
Merry Christmas everyone...I hope Santa brings you everything you want and remeber the Reason for the season
